The Freelance Forum presents: The Business of Happiness mini-course

We’re thrilled to kick off our new community, The Freelance Forum, with a mini-course to help you stay on top of your mental health. We’re on a mission to help you thrive as a freelancer – even during anxious and uncertain times.

It’s no secret that happiness and good mental health benefit all aspects of your life. If you’re new to freelancing, there’s good news: freelancers tend to be happier and more optimistic than traditional employees. You’ve come to the right place.

Meet Penny Locaso. Voted as one of Australia’s most influential entrepreneurs, this acclaimed author and speaker ditched her career as an executive and has dedicated the last six years to pursuing happiness.

Penny now works with individuals and organizations around the globe, helping them define happiness on their terms. She strives to empower others to bring more joy into their lives and build the necessary skills to thrive during complex and uncertain change.

Happiness is not a goal or end state – it’s a way of being. This Inovoice2go-sponsored five-module mini-course will take about 20 minutes each day but include powerful lessons on mindset that can positively impact you for years to come.

All lessons include video tutorials with easy-to-implement tips. There are also downloadable resources and worksheets to help you internalize the content and make the most of the material.

To access the videos and course materials, you’ll need to log into Facebook and become a member of the Freelance Forum. Once you’ve logged in and joined, work at your own pace. As you go along, discuss your progress with our Freelance Forum community. We’d love to hear how you’re doing along the way. Let’s dive in:

Day 1: Gift Yourself the Start of the Day

Gifting yourself the start of the day is one of the most powerful ways to increase focus, energy, and excitement for the day ahead. Learn how simple morning rituals can positively impact you throughout the entire day.

Once you’ve finished watching, be sure to complete the quiz and download the PDF worksheet for simple exercises you can do today to internalize this lesson and motivate yourself to make positive changes. Be sure to mark each task as ‘Done’ and share your insights from today’s lesson in the comments.

Day 2: Create a Work Sanctuary

Once you’ve started the day right, it’s time to get down to work. No matter where you work, having a space that reflects your personality and gives you energy and joy is essential to productivity.

What does your workspace sanctuary look like? Let us know in the comments!

Day 3: The Busy = BS Challenge

Busy = bullshit. Discover eliminating the word “busy” from your vocabulary unlocks a more present mind and provides a self-accountability check that helps you get more done.

Watch the video to learn how this simple change can have a massive impact on your mentality. Take the quiz and download the worksheet to take on the seven-day The Busy = BS Challenge this week!

How is it going? As you take on this challenge, jump into the Freelance Forum and share your insights in the comments.

Day 4: The Practice of Progress

Are you a perfectionist? Do you have days where you’re frustrated that things didn’t go your way? Find out why focusing on progress – even if it’s small – matters more than perfection.

Watch the video learn Penny’s simple visual practice to track progress, boost your mojo, and feel good about yourself at the end of the day. Afterward, download the worksheet to help set up your progress and reward system.

Were you able to fill your jar? What was the reward you gave yourself? Let us know in the comments!

Day 5: The Confidence to Be Courageous

Fear isn’t always a bad thing. Learn how it can be one of the greatest levers to shape the change you want in your personal and professional life. Discover how daily micro bravery opens the door to greater self-belief, resilience, and possibilities.

Watch the video to see how repeated acts of bravery build the inner strength to do even more courageous actions. Over time, you can remove fear as a barrier to change and unlock more potential and possibilities than you ever imagined. Download the worksheet to track your micro bravery over the next seven days.

What were your acts of micro bravery? Join the discussion in the Freelance Forum and let us know in the comments.
