We got a lot of interest in our recent blog post, how to enable payments with Invoice2go, and a number of great questions. We thought we’d share the answers to some of the most popular questions here. You asked, we answered.

What does my customer see when I enable payments?

Once you’ve switched on our payments feature, every invoice your customer receives will include a “Pay Now” button. This button links to an online payment form where customers can pay your invoices with a debit or credit card. If you have provided a PayPal account, a link to PayPal will be included on this form. You can see how this works here.

With the recent launch of support for Apple Pay, your customers can now pay you straight through your invoice using just a thumbprint. It works seamlessly with your Stripe account you’ve already set up – no extra work involved for you and a one-tap payment for your customer (quick tip: your customer must be using Safari browser within an iPad, iPhone or Mac to see the Apple Pay option).invoice2go-iphone6-payment-email

How long does it take to get paid?

The first transaction will always take 7 business days to be deposited. This initial holding period is necessary for complying with anti-money laundering regulations and to reduce the risk of fraud.

After this, the time it takes for Stripe to place the money into your selected bank account depends on where you’re located. In the United States and Australia, it typically takes up to 2 business days to cash out. However, if you’re in Canada, United Kingdom or Ireland, it can take up to 7 business days. Once completely processed, you will receive an email notifying you.

Who is Stripe?

Stripe is our third-party vendor that enables our debit and credit card payments feature. Stripe has simplified online commerce and continues to be one of the biggest innovators in the financial technology space. We’re proud to have Stripe as our partner. They are backed by a number of globally recognized investors, including Visa and American Express.

Are my payments secure with Stripe?

Security is one of the biggest considerations for Stripe in processing your payments. They securely manage all processes to prevent fraud and to manage how money is sent to your account. Stripe has been audited by a PCI-certified auditor and is licensed with the most strict level of certification available. They also ensure Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) and Transport Layer Security (TLS) mechanisms for all payments, to verify that all traffic is legitimate and to ensure data is safely transferred.

What are the fees?

When using the payments feature, Stripe will deduct a fee from the amount your customer pays you.

See below for details on fee by country:

Country All debit and credit cards International cards
