Last week, we had the pleasure of attending Women Who Code’s CONNECT 2017 event in San Francisco, and hearing Invoice2go’s own VP of engineering, Kallol Das, speak to a roomful of talented and up and coming engineers. He joined inspiring minds from some of the world’s leading tech companies including Airbnb, Slack, Nike Inc., Pinterest, Oracle, Autodesk, VMware, just to name a few.
The speakers shared their wisdom on everything from data science and security, to diversity and industry culture. Kallol spoke about the importance of empathy with regards to leadership, and how understanding other people’s perspectives is the first step to bringing about the change you want to see in the world. In the tech world and beyond, if you want to be a better leader, empathy is a must.
Seeing more women in technology was one of the key themes of the event, and something we care deeply about at Invoice2go. We’ve profiled some of our female engineers, and their journey to a career in software development, on the blog in the past, and are big believers in the power that diversity brings to any business, big or small.
